Rehearsing and Recording for New Album

hey all!
thought we'd keep you a little up to date and share this acoustic rehearsal of some new material.

Thank you Kingston!!!

Just wanted to say we had a blast at the Mansion in Kingston with Sticky Henderson and Sisters & the Cousin.  Everyone was so friendly and enthusiastic and good at yelling stuff.  Even a local in a passing car gave Robyn's outfit an exuberant thumbs up by shouting "LEATHER PANTS!" while speeding into a night rife with green lights and compliments.

Oh, and someone was nice enough to hold up this sign (more of a cue card) at the end of our set... and that was cool too.

Next show: Wednesday July 24th - A Fundraiser at Parts and Labour, Toronto

Our next performance will be on part of a fundraiser for our friend, Omii Thompson's short film "Modern Romance is Dead".  Check out a storyboard preview of what he's working on and support a great indie film-maker!

NXNE

Just wanted to say thanks to all who came to our NXNE gig at the Magpie.  It was a loud, sweaty, memorable night.  The next one may call for some scissor kicks... just saying.  We're recording new material but details for the next show are coming soon!

The Ride to Conquer Cancer benefit show!

Hey all!
just wanted to say thanks to everyone who came out and made the Ride to Conquer Cancer benefit such a success. From the organizer and perfomer- Candace Leca, to Mike Veerman and Simon Jain. Everyone put there best on the stage and made for a night of good music, with good people and even some hand claptitude! The crowd brought their party faces and the funds to make it an exceptional night for an great cause! Thanks!

Skinny Bitches Friday Jan 25 at the Silver Dollar

Hey, it's that time again! We Skinny Bitches are pretty excited to be playing at the Silver Dollar in Toronto with some great bands on a Friday night. So call your crush, put on some dancing shoes, get your hair did and get ready to break most of your new year's resolutions! The cool kids might bring cake.

Our EP release happened

Last night was a big night for us as we released our EP "DEBUT" as well as our music video for "GUNSMOKE". Our good friends Convoys also released their rad new video. It was an incredible night with great friends, loud music, drinking, dancing and balloons! When Convoys came back to the stage to join us for some end of the night rock-jam-face-scrunch-hipthrust-youkissyourmotherwiththatmouth?-guitar explosions... our guests had become a medieval mob and I think I even saw some devil horns (not real ones, the ones you make with your hand like an antennae to capture the rock).

Seething dance moves evolved to moshing and there were no part-timers to be found. When Jason (of Convoys) started wandering into the crowd while howling "North American Scum" I was a little afraid he might not make it back to us... but he did. He did.


So anyway, it really meant a lot to us to have such good people greet our screaming faces with their screaming faces in a moment of mutual love and respect that is usually felt only in the hearts of jedis and lions. So thanks to Convoys and everyone elso who worked so hard to make this happen. For us, it was the best!

Last night at the Piston

Thanks to everyone who came out and made Sunday night feel like the real boss of the week. (Eat it, Saturday) The cheeseburger heat lamp/stage lights really helped us get our sweat on and as of this morning we are a couple of slightly skinnier bitches.

Monroe, who drove down from Montreal in a clown car (plus a regular one) have really kicked it up a notch since I last saw them. Pat, their newest addition on vocals and guitar helped turn up the EPIC on their rock anthems. Youth Season (and their fans) brought it with great melodies and slick guitar arrangements. It was no surprise at the end when their fans yelled for more.

Thanks to our friend Simeon Ross of "Shoot the Image" for gracing the event with his photo-stylings. I'm gonna post more jpegs and video in the next day or month or so.

It's in our neighbourhood, so Robyn's gonna walk there and it's gonna look like this. (Except she's gonna get her hair did, so she'll have bangs - in which case this photo is a bad example of what the walk and show will be like)
